Presidents Cup Results...
Central Florida Krush Academy took second and fouth places at this past weekends FYSA Presidents Cup State Tournament. The Under-11’s lost two close matches and finished fourth in the state out of the forty-two teams that entered the competition in their age group. The Under-12’s, trying to defend their title from 2007, lost in the championship match and finished second out of the frty-eight teams that entered in their age group. Great Job ladies!!!

The Central Florida Krush Academy (Region B Champs) sent two teams into action yesterday with a shot at the FYSA State Title on the line in the Presidents Cup Semi-Finals.
The Under-11’s coached by Mir Moghaddam played the Region D Champs, Bay United FC, and although controling the majority of play lost a heart-breaker in penalty kicks. The Krush Academy, playing without any substitutions due to injuries, had a 1-0 lead until the last thirty seconds of regulation saw the opponent tie the score and put the game into overtime. The overtime ended with the score still knotted at 1-1 and it was going to be settled on the dreaded PK’s - a side the Krush Girls would come out on the wrong side!!!
- vs. Bay United FC
- tied 1 - 1 (Lost in PK’s)
- vs. Mako Sharks
The Under-12’s coached by Greg Brick played the Region A Champs, West Pines United, and played a solid match to secure a 2-0 victory and a chance to defend their state championship from a year ago. It was a tale of two "Maddies" as both scored one goal apiece to advance the team into Sunday’s Final. The squad will need to come out focused as they play the Eastlake Arsenal from Region C in what is going to be a wonderful game!!!

Krush Squads Secure Region B Cup...

The Krush U12 girls successfully defended their Region B Cup title this past week with two convincing wins. The Krush defeated Orange County 6-1 in their semi-final match as the ladies showed their flair in the attack, creating some beautiful goals, while defending their goal tenaciously. In the championship match the Krush were fantastic as they defeated Port Orange 4-0 in classy fashion. The Krush ladies fully understand how difficult it is to win back to back titles, as opponents will raise their level play. The Krush U12’s have trained hard to focus on playing quality football and trying to do the right things on the field. "Soccer can be an unforgiving game, so all you can do is remain focused on trying to do the right things on the field by making sound decisions", said Coach Brick. Goalkeeper S. Salas was outstanding with her communication to her teammates and with her decisions of when to come off her line. The defense was anchored by K. Morris who played tenaciously and with determination to close down any attack on our goal. Midfielder D. Garzon’s athletic ability is unmatched in Florida and was superb in her decision making on the ball while C. Montgomery played with flair and creativity all weekend long and "wowed" the crowd with a fantastic 50 yard solo run through midfield that was capped off by a great finish. Midfielder S. Buckley "aka...the play maker" dominated the midfield with her vision and ability to play precision passes to her teammates while C. Mang’s high work rate in the midfield created many turnovers and counterattacks which resulted in some great goals. Forward M. Brick used her pace and shot to break down the opponents while M. Byfield consistently worked down the left flank and was rewarded with several goals. C. Carney continues to pick teams apart with her ’technique’ on the ball and intelligent positioning while R. Roberts blazes and creates down the sidelines. Coatsie played the textbook "target player" and created and scored several fantastic goals. S. Carroll, who was injured, showed what "team" is all about by supporting her teammates on the sideline with enthusiasm and spirit which helped us bring home the trophy.
The Krush Academy is very proud of the class these young ladies continue to display on and off the field and wish them the best as they head to South Florida to defend their President’s Cup title.

After three weekends of hard work, the Krush Academy White U11 prevailed as the FYSA Region Cup B Champions. Having one of the toughest brackets to face right from the start and many injuries to overcome, the girls finished with two wins and a loss in the knock out round against Space Coast United, Orange County Soccer and the Jacksonville Soccer Club. When the Challenge Round schedule came out, Coach Mir was put to an extreme challenge and that was to find a way to rise to the top with only ten healthy players to contend against some great teams. The Krush were placed in a challenging group; which included Space Coast United, FSA Warhawks, and the Melbourne Tsunami. The Krush defeated Tsunami 1-0, defeated the FSA Warhawks 4-0 and finished with a tie 1-1 with the Space Coast United. Coach Mir stated, "These kids at the Challenge Round played with the biggest hearts and played some of their best soccer ever, which lead to finishing number one in group play and advancing to the final weekend of play". The Final Four was a difficult task, facing two other teams that are not only from Orlando, but from the same FSA club which may have never happened before (to have three teams from the same club in the Region Cup Final Four). The Krush showed great skill and defeated the Wildcats 5-2 in the Semi-Finals with some great passing and movement while outplaying the competition. Facing The FSA Warhawks in the finals brought great competition and they played us tough throughout the match; double teaming some of our players and forcing the squad to change the lineup which lead to two unbelievable goals to secure a 2-1 victory. "The Final Four was an amazing experience for our kids and one that they will never forget. The Region B Championship has shown the girls that hard work does pay off in the end. I am very proud of each and every one of these girls and congratulate every participant and their families that played during these three weeks" said Coach Mir.
The Krush will be going to Plantation Florida to contend in the FYSA President’s Cup April 5th and 6th. The Academy would like to wish the Krush girls great luck at the Presidents Cup.
