JOE AVALLONE - HEAD COACH:
Joe brings his passion and love for the game of soccer to the Central Florida Krush Academy system. He has the desire to help the younger players achieve their dreams of playing at a higher level, whether in college or professionally. Joe has an outstanding background in the sport over the past twenty years as both a player and coach.
After starring at Lake Howell High School he was granted a soccer scholarship and attended Methodist College in North Carolina. After two years at Methodist as a standout he transferred to the University of Central Florida in order to play college soccer in his hometown. After UCF Joe was selected to play for the local professional team, the Orlando Lions, were he played for eight seasons.
Joe began his coaching career in 1990 at Oviedo High School where he coached the Boy’s Varsity Soccer Team to 270 wins in his fifteen seasons. In 1999 Joe took the reigns of the new United Soccer Leagues Orlando Franchise, the Central Florida Kraze. He quickly turned the team into one of the winningest franchises in the highly competitive Premier Development League. After leading the team to the playoffs in 2003, his years of hard work was rewarded in 2004 when he brought the first-ever soccer national championship to Orlando when the Kraze defeated the Boulder Rapids Reserves 1 – 0 for the PDL Title. The teams success continued as he again led the team to the playoffs in the 2005 season and has recently seen four of his former players (Eric Vasquez – Columbus Crew, Justin Cook – Chicago Fire, Ryan McIntosh – DC United & Sergei Raad – Kansas City Wizards) sign professional contracts with Major League Soccer.
Joe is in his ninth year as Head Coach for the Central Florida Kraze and currently holds a USSF "B" License. He is a Representative for ING Financial Advisors and owns his own business, Retirement Planning & Associates. Joe lives in Winter Park with his wife of seventeen years, Jill, and their three children: Ashleigh (6 years), Allie (4 years) & Ryan (3 years).
